I first started looking for circular blade sharpeners about a year ago. The guy who used to sharpen my blades had retired and sold his machine. I figured that I could learn and at least keep my own blades sharp. All I could find were ones from China and they looked really cheap. I wanted something built in the good old USA. I saw sharpeners that were way over my price budget. But then I found a unit from Thorvie International and it looked promising. I talked to Rick and he told me all about the machine and I got to watch videos. It looked easy enough. So I finally took the plunge and bought just the AV-40 saw blade sharpener. I watched all the how to videos several times and did my own. I was impressed on how easy it was to set up and sharpen. I hung out my business sign and started sharpening saw blades the first part of August 2015. The business and clientele grows with every passing month. At this point February 2016, I am half way of paying my savings account back for the investment. The machine is so heavy duty and is solidly built. I am totally impressed with how it works and sets up. My customers are very satisfied with how sharp their saw blades are when they get them back. I hope to add to my sharpening shop in the near future. The numerous phone calls to Rick were always taken with professionalism and my questions were answered on the spot. I hope to visit the factory sometime soon. I believe the AV-40 is a very well made machine and will hold up well past my lifetime. Thank you to the Thorvie team!
